Why are most third-world country airports located in the middle of the city

Why are most third-world country airports located in the middle of the city?
For example. LAX, located far from Downtown Los Angeles Vancouver International, Located Away from the city Toronto-Pearson, Located Far From City Seattle-Tacoma, You might need to book a flight from here to downtown.. Now, Quito, Ecuador, DON'T HIT THE BUILDINGS!!!!!!!! Tegucigulpa, Honduras, located right in the middle However, some exceptions can be made (San Jose, CA and San Diego, CA) But I think you get the party... Why is this?

I'm sure it mostly has to do with money. When a country has the need and the billions of dollars it takes to acquire the land and build an airport away from the city they'll probably do it.

It has nothing to do with being in the Third World or not, and everything to do with the way the city grows before and after the airport is built.

because they are smart - or arnt they?? you make happy people by not having to travel far - but the airport corporations dont get outrages travel money like you normally would either. but you make happy travellers.
