None of the major airlines currently fly non-stop between those two cities. For a 1-stop flight, the best travel time appears to be just over 7 hours.

There is no nonstop service, but there is a direct flight. (BTW- "direct" means same plane service with stops enroute.) The only sdirect flight between SFO and SJO is a red eye on TACA International and is 7hr 20min., including a 40 minute stop over in San Salvador, El Salvador. It departs SFO at 12:40am and arrives at 8:05 am.
