for a bus service, look at Greyhound. for train your only choise is Amtrak

If you can't afford air fare, you can't afford Amtrak either. Greyhound bus southbound will do it. But, whatever the problem with mom and dad is, you getting on the bus to ANYWHERE IS A BAD IDEA. Give them another chance for a bit. If that doesn't help smooth the waters at home, you can still head out into the world. LA is a bad place to be heading to when first getting out in the world. Your chances for survival are pretty much nil. LA has always gobbled up young people heading out into the world for the first time. It is hard to make a go of it there without your parents help, at first. Like I say, give the folks another chance. At the least, you'll save the bus fare to spend it on something better than an 8 hour bus ride.................

well even if you took Greyhound or amtrak you will still need ID (it doesnt have to be a passport) but some govement ID (like a state ID card, (proballty even a school id with your Photo might be accpected)_ but we do wonder why your parent cant know (it gives the impression you are trying to run away and we will not be parties to that sorry

Traveling alone 14 on SW airlines and connecting flights

Traveling alone 14 on SW airlines and connecting flights.?
Hello, I will be leaving on Dec. 30 from Denver, CO to San Jose, CA. I will be on an early Southwest airlines flight leaving at 6:10 A.M I will be boarding a flight from Denver to Las Vegas,Nevada. I will arrive at 7 55 a.m then once I get off that aircraft I will go to another gate to board a non-stop flight from Vegas to San Jose. The flight leaves at 8 40. I'm a bit scared that I may miss my connection if we encounter any delays of 10 minutes or more. I need to make sure I make this flight to San Jose. Any tips on the layout of the vegas airport to make sure I can make the connecting flight if I encounter any delays in Denver. Also on the way back I will be departing January 3, 2010 at 7 20 pm from San Jose, CA to LAX but it's just a stop not switching flights then it will proceed to Denver and I will arrive in Denver at 12 10 A.M Jan. 3rd. I'm 14 years old therefore I'm not considered a minor on any southwest flights I'm considered an adult.

For Southwest Airline, they have the entire terminal to their own, that is your connecting flight should leave from the same terminal that you arrive in so it takes maximum 10 minutes from one end to the other. With 50 minutes, you should have 40 minutes left. Just in case the incoming flight arrives late so you miss your connecting flight to San Jose, you don't need to worry because it's the airline's fault, and even before the first flight touches the ground in Las Vegas, Southwest's computer would have booked you on the next flight to take you to your final destination. In case you miss your flight, go up to the Southwest counter and the staff can tell you when your next flight to San Jose would be. After you arrive, check the TV monitor for the gate no. of the San Jose flight, that is the counter you should go to whether late or not.

In Vegas all of the Southwest gates are near each other. I only had 30 minutes to change planes in Vegas once and I was worried because my first flight was delayed by 40 minutes and it was going to be the last flight of the night out of Vegas to San Jose. But they already had me in the computer and they held the plane in Vegas for me so that I could make the switch. Chances are there are other people on the plane who need to make the same transfer as you.

also remember that you should be at the airport 2 hours before the flight which means 4:00am in the morning how do/did you plan get to the airport?

I'm looking for an extremly cheap (less than $150) flight from OKC to San Jose, CA (SJC) or the surrounding areas, or to Los Angeles (LAX). The trip can be anywhere between the dates March 12, 2009-March 22, 2009. It needs to be anywhere from 4-7 nights. I've looked everywhere with no luck! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

check out www.sidestep.com

You must be talking about a 'one way' ticket, because you are not going to get that route, as a round-trip for that price. Oklahoma City is an expensive market to fly out of. I suggest you drive to Dallas and fly out of DFW, where airfares are much more competitive.

Are there non-stop flights from Los Angeles to Costa Rica -- either San Jose or Liberia airports

Are there non-stop flights from Los Angeles to Costa Rica -- either San Jose or Liberia airports?
If so, what days? What airlines? Thanks!

According to Expedia.com, there are no non-stops. At best you would have to make a connection in Miami or Dallas.
2 :
Yes, both LAN and Delta have non-stop, and I'm sure other airlines do too.
3 :
TACA (http://www.taca.com) has nonstop service from LAX to SJO, running Tue-Fri only. There's also a daily flight that goes through San Salvador (very short layover). The return nonstop (SJO-LAX) operates Mon-Thur only. So a Fri-Wed trip could mean nonstop both ways.
4 :
Lacsa (Costa Rica Airline) which is run by Taca (go to their website as the one mentioned) has several flights schedule daily to LAX to San Jose, and vise-versa..
5 :
I've seen them, from LAX to San Jose.....very expensive..... Lineas Aereas Costarricenses (LACSA), which operates a daily non-stop flight from San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO) to Los Angeles (LAX) regularly scheduled to depart at 6:15pm and arrive at 10:35pm. Usually an Airbus A319 is flown for this route. The average travel time from San Jose, Costa Rica to Los Angeles, CA is 6 hours and 20 minutes. If you don't book nonstop, be sure to go thru Houston....it's the best record Hub of all...enjoy :)
