No I dont think so

You DO realize that Hawaii is one of The United States, right? It is our 50th State. You wouldn't need a passport to go to Reno from California, would you? Or are they no longer teaching geography and American History where you went to school? As to the cost of a flight, it's more expensive to fly in the Summer than in the Winter.
3 :
No you do not need a passport to travel to Hawaii. The only document you would need is a picture ID when checking in at the arport to get on the planes (both in cali and hawaii). If you are planning on driving in Hawaii (yes, we have cars, motorcycles and moped and actual paved roads in Hawaii) you would need to bring your driver's license. Search online at any of the individual airlines sites or use sites like travelocity and orbitz or expedia.
4 :
That depends on where you are traveling from. If you are already in the USA, you do not need a passport. Hawaii is the 50th state. If you are traveling from outside the US and are not American, you'll need a passport to enter the country.
5 :
If You are a U.S. citizen or resident alien, no you don't need a passport. Hawaii is The 50th state in the union. You just need legal ID to get through Airport security. If you are from a foreign country, then yes.

You do not need a passport to travel anywhere in the 50 states or its 'territories'. However in less then about 3 years or so you will have to go through full body cavity searches, have your shoes melted and reformed for carbonite detonation samples, have your hair processed at an FBI airport lab and have your genitals grabbed and probed by 20 different high ranking officials that you never new existed before you get through the luggage check station. We are talking back room beatings and skin graphs before the year 2020. And in my opinion check priceline. Any price you can find there United air will match, part of their deal.

hawaii is in the united states u dont need a passport. and i think the cheepest flight is southweast
8 :
You do not need a passport if you are a US citizen. You only need your driver's license or a US Government ID showing your picture with your address on it. Hawaii is a state of the US, even though it is in the Pacific. Go on www.expedia.com for flights from California.

No such thing as a cheap flight anymore. Even with oil prices coming down you haven''t seen a big drop in ticket cost. Eva airlines I found had some cheap flights check them out.
2 :
Typically the cheapest fares to Asia are usually through LA or San Francisco. China Airlines (Taiwan) has flights to BKK through Taipei from LAX for about $995 total on certain dates in January, which is about as cheap as you can find these days. http://www.china-airlines.com/en/index.htm Asiana is also offering a fare for less than $1,000 to BKK from LAX in January. http://us.flyasiana.com/Global/US/en/index

Hey I'm not a booking agent and it may be hard to make connections so you have to figure it out yourself but (ANA has a cheaper fare (about -$50US) from JFK to BKK but I don't do ANA) You hsve to fly middle of the week and you have to fiddle with the dates because they don't have the cheap code for all dates but I checked 1/7/2009 to 2/11/2009 and heres the price. $445 R/T on LACSA from SJO to JFK http://lanperu.us/airlines/lacsa.shtml You'll probably be on a TACA airplane but you have to book through the place above or Cheapo tickets or Expedia or one of those. The one way price is higher? I don't know why $1322 R/T Korean Air (JFK to BKK) http://www.koreanair.com/ I checked Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami (second best american $208 to Miami and Delta to BKK $1880), Minneapolis, Detroit, Washington D.C., Houston, New Orleans, Mexico City and flying into Singapore or KL. This is the best pricewise

www.cheaptickets.com is pretty much always the cheapest if your schedule is flexible. SFO or LAX is usually great to fly out of.

Is it safe to drive AT NIGHT from san jose' [costa rica] to lafortuna

Is it safe to drive AT NIGHT from san jose' [costa rica] to lafortuna?
I just realized my flight coming in, we'll arrive @8:35pm, & probably around 9pm til we get into our rental car to drive from San Jose' airport to Lafortuna. We've never been to Costa RIca before and really do not want to risk being hijacked on the highway somehow along the way to lafortuna. Also, are the roads to lafortuna really like a highway? OR are they jungly- type dirt roads with wild plants everywhere? I am getting scared. Should I order brass knuckes and mace on Ebay b4 our trip? I'm just concerned about the nightly drive upon arrival, that's it.

If you have never been to CR before, you are taking a huge gamble driving to La Fortuna late night. I would bet you will get lost!!! even with a GPS. That area gets very rural, and is very dark at night even with a full moon. I have driven that road many of times, and I still hate driving at night. It is not the hijacking etc, but the mountain and general road conditions. No you do not need brass knuckes or mace. Arrive, spend the night in a hotel, rent your car and cruise to La Fortuna the next day. And on the way enjoy the awesome landscape, and the pretty cool towns. Take your time and not be paranoid about being hijacked and you will enjoy your trip a 100 times more...

Your biggest worry driving at night is crashing head on with a speeding truck or falling off a cliff. There are no street lamps so it's pitch black on the roads at night. It's dangerous for people familiar with the roads, but for somebody new to the road, it's EXTREMELY dangerous. There are some nasty curves along the way. I've been to CR about 40 times (family) and I never drive outside of the city at night. Too risky. There is virtually no chance of being hijacked, but there is of getting into an accident or getting lost in the middle of nowhere.

When is the best time to get the lowest air fair prior to the flight date

When is the best time to get the lowest air fair prior to the flight date?
I need to fly from san jose, CA to mexico city in Feb 2008. What is the best time to buy lowest priced tickets? Is there any trend, e.g. the price possibly dropping, then may start rising at some point? Is there any strategy for the people who fly?

On international flights there is usually not such a thing like and advance purchase in order to get a good fare, it all depends on the dates (if you are flying on busy season). Still, sometimes airlines make "sales" in certain markets, so my advice would be to start monitoring the prices on the dates you want to fly on the Internet. If you are flexible with your traveling dates it will be easier to get a better fare, most webs for airlines now have a feature that allows you to search based on price. Monitor for a week or two the prices on all the airlines that you can, and I would suggest not to wait more than a month before your flight because you could end up not finding space when you want it. A good way to know if the flight is full is to book the seats on the Internet.. continue clicking until they let you assign seats (usually that is before you have to type you credit card number) . When the seat map pops up you will be able to see how full it is.

Generally, you *do* have to book in advance to get the best fares--typically 14 days or more in advance. Generally, 90 to 21 days advance is best--less than 21 days before departure and you will be inside the advance purchase window for cheapest fares; more than 90 and you might miss a good sale. You can see exactly what you asked for here: http://www.farecompare.com/search/year.html?destination=Mexico%20City,%20MX%20(MEX)&p=1&s=r&t=r&departure=San%20Jose,%20CA%20(SJC)&type=homepage Can also sign up there for fare alerts to your email, can click to check seat availability, click to book, and see on a calendar how far in advance you need to book for the cheapest fares.
